


Intern Quality Assurance Analyst
Jazinga is the result of a group of Internet and telephony veterans and entrepreneurs who believed that the traditional telephony systems needed to join the 21st century. Little has changed in telephony over the past 25 years. Sophisticated telephony features such as auto-attendants, extension to extension calling, remote office integration or individual extensions and voicemail boxes has been reserved for large organizations with the financial and technical resource to implement and manage them. The "Voice 2.0" wave is starting and Jazinga is leveraging the integration of voice and data to bring advanced Internet and telephony functionality to everyone. Our development team is self managed and uses Scrum based Agile development processes to build our products in a fast paced work environment.
Job Summary
- Through a variety of testing methods, search for new bugs that are introduced into the product, and verify fixes.
- Write unit testing and automated test suites.
- Track and update various metrics on the quality of the product.
- Understand and verify that product features meet expectations of customers.
- Participate in the Sprint Planning Meetings at the beginning of each iteration as a voice of quality excellence.
- Participate in customer support activites to help customers resolve issues in a timely fashion.
- Test and validate new hardware before it is shipped to customers.
Qualifications
- Post secondary degree or diploma, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science.
- Knowledge of basic networking systems.
- Experience both using and administering Linux systems.
- Excellent time management, communication and problem solving skills.
- Meticulous with a high attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Asterisk and VoIP based telephony would be considered an asset.
- Experience in a Quality Assurance environment would be considered an asset.
- Experience in Rich Internet Application development (AJAX, Flex/Actionscript/Flash) would be considered an asset.
- Experience with Django, Ruby on Rails or Zope would be considered an asset.
- Experience developing applications on Linux systems would be considered an asset.
- Experience as a Customer Service Representative would be considered an asset.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada (no work permits or student visas)
- Must be a recent post secondary graduate
