Intern Software Developer

Jazinga is the result of a group of Internet and telephony veterans and entrepreneurs who believed that the traditional telephony systems needed to join the 21st century. Little has changed in telephony over the past 25 years. Sophisticated telephony features such as auto-attendants, extension to extension calling, remote office integration or individual extensions and voicemail boxes has been reserved for large organizations with the financial and technical resource to implement and manage them. The "Voice 2.0" wave is starting and Jazinga is leveraging the integration of voice and data to bring advanced Internet and telephony functionality to everyone. Our development team is self managed and uses Scrum based Agile development processes to build our products in a fast paced work environment.

Job Summary

• Develop implement and test new features
• Resolve defects in the system
• Write unit testing and automated test suites
• Understand and verify that product features implemented meet expectations of product owner
• Participate in the Sprint Planning Meetings at the beginning of each iteration

Qualifications

• Post secondary degree or diploma, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science
• Experience developing applications in Python and/or Flex/Actionscript
• Knowledge of basic networking systems
• Experience with Django, Ruby on Rails or Zope would be considered an asset
• Experience both using and administering Linux systems would be considered an asset
• Experience developing software using Test Driven Development would be considered an asset
• Knowledge of Asterisk and VoIP based telephony would be considered an asset
• Experience in Rich Internet Application development would be considered an asset
• Experience developing applications on Linux systems would be considered an asset

Eligibility Requirements

• Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada (no work permits or student visas)
• Must be a recent post secondary graduate
