Linux / VoIP Systems Developer

Jazinga is the result of a group of Internet and telephony veterans and entrepreneurs who believed that the traditional telephony systems needed to join the 21st century. Little has changed in telephony over the past 25 years. Sophisticated telephony features such as auto-attendants, extension to extension calling, remote office integration or individual extensions and voicemail boxes has been reserved for large organizations with the financial and technical resource to implement and manage them. The "Voice 2.0" wave is starting and Jazinga is leveraging the integration of voice and data to bring advanced Internet and telephony functionality to everyone. Our development team is self managed and uses Scrum based Agile development processes to build our products in a fast paced work environment.

Job Summary

  • As a member of the software development team, aid in development, testing, and deployment of software updates for a VoIP appliance
  • Administer tier 1 support for an installed base of VoIP appliance customers
  • Help define the product development road map
  • Write unit testing and automated test suites.

Desired Skills

  • Hands on experience with Python, Ruby or other high level scripting language
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven record of helping customers, either internal or external to resolve technical issues on their systems
  • Experience developing software using Test Driven Development would be considered an asset
  • Experience administering, troubleshooting and installing Linux (Ubuntu/Debian) based servers and desktops
  • Experience administering, troubleshooting and installing Asterisk based VoIP solutions
  • Knowledge of Django or other web frameworks (Ruby on Rails, etc)
  • Web development experience
  • Experience working in an Agile environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor (4-year) degree, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science or equivalent
  • Three or more years experience in either a QA, support, or development role
  • Digium-Certified Asterisk Professional (dCAP) would be considered an asset
